February 27 (SeeNews) - The operating profit of German financial services group Allianz from its insurance activities in Romania totalled about 15 million euro ($17 million) in 2014, the group said.
The group’s property/casualty insurance division in Romania recorded an operating profit of 9 million euro last year, up from 5 million in 2013, while gross written premiums rose to 199 million euro from 186 million, Allianz said in its preliminary financial report released on Thursday.
The combined ratio on the property/casualty segment in Romania fell to 100.3% last year from 102.9% in 2013.
The operating profit from its life/health division in the country rose to 6 million euro from 1 million a year earlier. Life/health insurance statutory premiums remained flat at 23 million euro.
