TIRANA (Albania), April 18 (SeeNews) – The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) said it has selected local construction company Uleza Ndertim as the winner of a tender for the construction and upgrade of tourism infrastructure in the country’s northern village of Vermosh.
The assignment is estimated to cost 141.4 million leks ($1.3 million/1.1 million euro), VAT included, and the construction works must be completed within six months, ADF said in a statement on Wednesday.
Four bidders took part in the tender procedure.
The tourist infrastructure works in Vermosh are part of a major project for the development of the Albanian Alps and coastal areas, co-financed with a 28.7 million euro loan from the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and a contribution of 6.0 million euro from the Albanian government, ADF said.
Most tourists travel to Vermosh for its mountain views. Popular activities in Vermosh include hiking, fishing and horseback riding.
The ADF is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
