January 23 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's state-owned telecom, Telekomi i Kosoves, said it signed a two-year agreement worth an estimated 1.3 million euro ($1.4 million) with Albanian pay television provider Digitalb for the distribution of its content in Kosovo.
The exact amount of the monthly payments that Telekomi i Kosoves will make to Digitalb under the contract will depend on the number of subscribers for Digitalb content-based products, the telecom said in a non-competitive procurement notice on Monday.
Until 2022, Digitalb’s content was distributed in Kosovo through four local cable platforms.
In 2021, Telekomi i Kosoves signed a three-year content distribution agreement with Digitalb’s main competitor in Albania, Tring TV. Tring’s content is currently streaming through Telekomi i Kosoves' pay TV platform, Vala TV.
Digitalb is part of Albania’s Top Media Group, the second largest media group in the country in terms of revenue in 2022. Founded in 2004, Digitalb played a pivotal role in introducing digital satellite television services to Albanian audiences.
