TIRANA (Albania), January 29 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers increased to 17.6 billion leks ($156.9 million/142.4 million euro) in 2019, up 4.11% year-on-year, official figures show.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance added 3.88% to 16.3 billion leks in 2019, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 1.2 billion leks, up 6.46%, according to figures published on the website of the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) on Tuesday.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 6.4 billion leks in 2019 from 7.0 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
