TIRANA (Albania), September 4 (SeeNews) – The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) said on Tuesday it is inviting bids in a tender for the upgrade of a 1.6 km road section in the southwestern city of Lushnja.
The bidding deadline is October 5 and the maximum budget available for the implementation of the project is estimated at 122 million leks ($1.12 million/ 961,367 euro), ADF said in a tender notice published by the country’s public procurement agency.
The assignment is part of a project for integrated development of urban infrastructure and tourism activities focused on Albania's south and financed with the proceeds of a $71 million loan from the World Bank.
The objective of the project is to improve urban infrastructure, enhance tourism assets, and strengthen institutional capacity to support tourism-related local economic development in selected areas, the World Bank said earlier.
The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
