April 6 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Air Serbia has suspended the sale of tickets ​for flights in April, data from the company's corporate website showed on Monday.

The first available date for the purchase of tickets for Air Serbia flights is now May 1, according to company data.

Air Serbia suspended all passenger flights on March 20 due to the coronavirus outbreak in Serbia. Back then, the company suspended the sale of tickets for all flights until April 13.

Last week, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the government plans to provide state aid to power utility EPS, Air Serbia and Telekom Srbija to help them cope with the economic consequences of the coronavirus outbreak.

Serbia has confirmed 1,908 cases of the coronavirus infection and 51 deaths related to the virus so far. The country closed its borders on March 15, shortly after it declared a state of emergency.
