February 14 (SeeNews) - A1 Bulgaria's total revenue grew by an annual 17.1% in 2023, reaching a record high of 750 million euro ($809.5 million), parent company A1 Telekom Austria Group said.
Earnings before interest and taxes, amortisation and depreciation (EBITDA) increased by 19.4% on the year to 304 million euro last year, the telecoms operator said in an annual financial statement published on Tuesday.
In the fourth quarter alone, the company's revenue climbed by 14.2% year-on-year to 213 million euro, while EBITDA rose by 14.6% to 73 million euro.
The company's performance last year was helped by favourable local market dynamics and continued up-selling and value-protecting pricing measures, which A1 implemented in March, it said.
The main revenue growth driver in the last quarter of 2023 was the solutions and connectivity business, which was supported by ongoing demand for security services and IT solutions. Additionally, the company raised the number of its revenue-generating units (RGUs) by an annual 5.2%, while the number of mobile subscribers remained stable.
In October-December, A1 Bulgaria's electricity costs declined, whereas revenue-related expenses increased, including costs of equipment sold and licences and software for resale, as well as TV content costs and sales commissions.
A1's international operations also include Belarus, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and North Macedonia.
