February 14 (SeeNews) - A1 Telekom Austria Group said the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of its subsidiary in North Macedonia went up 8.5% year-on-year in 2023, to 48 million euro ($51.4 million).
A1 Makedonija's revenues rose by 7.2% on the year in 2023, reaching 152 million euro, A1 Telekom Austria Group said in an annual financial statement on Tuesday.
In the fourth quarter alone, A1 Makedonia's EBITDA increased 17.5% year-on-year to 12 million euro, as total revenues went up 9.5% to 41 million euro.
On the cost side, core operational expenses increased in the last quarter of 2023 mainly due to higher total workforce costs and site rentals while electricity costs declined due to lower spot prices, the group said in the statement.
A1 Makedonija competes with T-Mobile Macedonia, part of Deutsche Telekom, on a market of 1.8 million people.
In Southeast Europe, A1 Telekom Austria Group also operates in Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia.
