May 25 (SeeNews) - There are no active cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Montenegro at present, health authorities said.
The country which registered its first case of the disease 68 days ago currently has no active COVID-19 cases, Montenegro's health institute, a unit with the health ministry, said in an update on the epidemiological situation in the country on Sunday.
Montenegro was the last European country to register a case of coronavirus infection and the first to eradicate the disease, local media quoted health minister Kenen Hrapovic as saying on Monday.
"In the days ahead, responsible behaviour and shared healthcare are our trump card to continue to be proud holders of the title of a coronavirus-free state," Hrapovic said.
The country has recorded a total of 324 coronavirus cases since the outbreak of the disease on its territory in March. The authorities have reported nine deaths related to the virus.
