Radical Party (SRS) - an ultranationalist formation firmly against Serbia's cooperation with the United Nations war crimes tribunal in the Hague. Serbia's poor co-operation with the tribunal is the sole reason for the suspension of the country's association talks with the European Union. SRS says it will never agree to independence for the southern province of Kosovo, populated mainly by ethnic Albanians. In the January 2007 general elections the party won 81 seats out of 250 turning to the biggest political force in parliament. However, after it failed to find enough support to form a cabinet, SRS remained in opposition.
