Democratic Party (DS) - The pro-West party, once led by the assassinated Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, won 60 seats in parliament after the January 2007 elections. DS is also dominating the cabinet that it formed on May 15, 2007 in coalition with the other pro-European parties in the country. DS's eader and Serbian President Boris Tadic is at present the most popular politician in Serbia. The party also dominated the first reformist government of Serbia after the ouster of late ex-Yugoslav strongman Slobodan Milosevic in the period 2000-2003.
