May 7 (SeeNews) - Italian banking group UniCredit said on Tuesday that its Croatian unit, Zagrebacka Banka Group, recorded a consolidated net profit of 154 million euro ($ 166 million) in the first quarter of 2024, up from 119 million euro in the prior-year period.
The Croatian unit's operating income increased 19.3% to 253 million euro, while operating expenses rose 2.5% to 82 million euro, according to an unaudited financial statement published on the website of UniCredit Group.
Net interest income increased 24% to 181 million euro in the first three months of 2023, while net fee and commission income rose 7.5% to 57 million euro.
Total assets of the Zagrebacka Banka Group amounted to 24.344 billion euro at the end of March, and were lower by 1.0% compared to end-2023.
Shares in the parent bank of the group, Zagrebacka Banka d.d. [ZSE:ZABA], traded 0.29% lower at 17.05 euro on Tuesday afternoon on the Zagreb bourse.
