(releads with premier Emil Boc’s plans to replace six ministers)

BUCHAREST (Romania), September 2 (SeeNews) – Romania’s Prime Minister Emil Boc plans to replace six ministers in his cabinet, including the portfolios of finance and economy, local news agency Mediafax reported on Thursday.

Besides Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu and Economy Minister Adriean Videanu Boc plans to replace Transport Minister Radu Berceanu, Agriculture Minister Mihail Dumitru, Telecommunicatons Minister Gabriel Sandu and Labour Minister Mihai Seitan, Mediafax reported.

Each of the six ministers held separate discussions with Boc earlier on Thursday. The country’s President Traian Basescu also discussed the planned cabinet reshuffle with Boc on Thursday morning.

Romania’s coalition cabinet barely survived a no-confidence vote in June over a package of austerity measures backed by the International Monetary Fund and aimed at cutting budget deficit to 6.8% of the projected gross domestic product this year from 7.2% last year.

The government raised value-added tax (VAT) to 24% from 19% and cut public sector wages by 25% as of July 1, arousing social unrest.

October 16 was declared Day of Bulgarian Aviation and Air Force in 1963 in honour of the fact that in 1912 lieutenants Radul Milkov and Prodan Tarakchiev carried out the first military surveillance flight in the world, over the Edirne fortress in Turkey under Bulgarian siege. The crew dropped two hand grenades over Karaagaç in Turkey, an important military target in the First Balkan War.
