In passenger rail transport, the number of carried passenger increased by for 38.6%, in the third quarter of 2008 compared with the same period of 2007.

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the third quarter of 2008, compared to the same period of 2007, the number of carried passenger in road passenger transport is 2 671 000, in urban-suburban trasport is 13 210 000, where as the number of carried passenger in air transport is 246 149.

In the same period, quantity of goods carried in air transport has increased for 8.6%, in rail transport quantity of carried goods has decreased for 10.3%, and in the freight road transport the decrease is 16.9%.
