Estimation of the managers of the enterprises from the construction sector about the current business situation in the third quarter of 2008

According to the data from the State Statistical Office the managers of the enterprises assessed that the current business situation in the third quarter of 2008 is more satisfactory compared to the same quarter previous year. The assessment of the present financial situation of their enterprises is less satisfactory than in the same quarter previous year. The expectations for the number of employees in the next period are less optimistic, the assessment of the present orders is less satisfactory and the assessment of the present quantity and quality of the enterprise’s mechanization and equipment is under normal level. In the next period an increase of the selling prices is expected, and decrease of the total orders (agreements).
The most important influence, limiting the improvement of the present construction activity are the following factors: increased material expenditures with 16.6%, shortage of equipment with 15.2%, shortage of materials with 13.8% and no demand with 10.9%.
