Compared to September 2008, in October 2008 volume turnover in retail trade was down, but it went up compared to October 2007.

Compared to September 2008, turnover lower

Compared to September 2008, in October 2008 the volume retail trade turnover without VAT decreased by 2.6%; in retail trade with food, beverages and tobacco it was down by 0.7% and in retail trade with non-food it was down by 3.3%. In the same comparison the volume turnover without VAT in motor trade activity decreased by 8.4%.

Compared to October 2007, turnover higher

Compared to October 2007, in October 2008 the volume retail trade turnover without VAT increased by 2.6%; in retail trade with food, beverages and tobacco it was up by 6.8%, while in retail trade with non-food it was down by 0.8%. In the same comparison the volume turnover without VAT in motor trade activity increased by 1.0%.

Detailed data on volume turnover indices of retail trade and motor trade for October 2008 will be published in the First Release: Turnover in distributive trade and in the SI-STAT database on SORS’s website not later than 30th December 2008.
