


































BELGRADE (Serbia), January 17 (SeeNews) - Serbian power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) plans to call this year tenders for the construction of eight small hydro power plants (HPPs) and the upgrade of 15 existing ones, local media reported.
The projects will be financed with a 45 million euro ($57 million) loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, daily Danas (www.danas.rs) said over the weekend, quoting unnamed EPS sources.
EPS has allocated 19 million euro for the construction of the Boban, Celije, Braje, Zlatibor, Parmenac, Rovni, Selova and Vrutci HPPs. They will have a total capacity of 14.3 megawatts (MW) and will generate 56 gigawatts hours (GWh) annually.
The planned upgrade of 15 plants with a total capacity of 17.7 MW producing 55 GWh annually will cost 23 million euro. After the upgrade their combined capacity will be raised to 23.3 MW and annual production will increased by 77 GWh.
