The Financial Agency (Fina) cut its employee count by 717 this year and currently has 3,655 employees. After restructuring and reorganization, in January the redundancy list contained 792 people, although there was talk about more than 1,000 such workers at the end of last year.Kresimir Sever, president of the Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (NHS) says they managed to save a large number of people, while many of those who left met conditions for early retirement. They left with an honorable severance pay, Sever says. Fina reports it has allocated HRK 140m for the redundancy program. The cost cuts through restructuring should lead the Agency to positive operation this year. In the first nine months last year it posted a loss of HRK 29.9m, after having recorded a loss of HRK 34m in 2008, and HRK 22m in 2007. Fina has discontinued the unprofitable service “Fina Compensations” and will lease its Business premises. (Source: www.limun.hr original text was published in Slobodna Dalmacija)
