market HIGHLIGHTS

The market remained under pressure during the session but mainly due to speculators. The number of deals decreased, whereas the volumes improved as compared to the previous week. Holdings closed in different directions. Stara Planina Hold (CENHL: 6.13; 0.00%) was under permanent buying interest and 50 954 shares changed hands. Odessos (ODES: 280.00; +2.75%) supported BG40 in light volumes. However, 67% from the components of the price-weighted index finished in the red. Hydraulic Elements and Systems (HES: 23.00; -1.20%) enjoyed investors’ attention, despite the red color.

BSE took a decision to get out from calculations of SOFIX Petrol (PET: 4.80; -2.64%) and to replace it with Corporate Commercial Bank (CORP: 90.89; -0.30%), First Investment Bank (FIB: 9.53; 0.00%), Lead and Zink Complex (OTZK: 68.87; -1.47%) and Holding Roads (HDPAT: 1165.23; -0.28%). BG40 was also changed.

Petrol /PET/ (chart)

PET posted 4Q 2007 consolidated loss of BGN 346 000, mainly due to BGN 5.5 m losses from operations with securities and foreign exchange rates. sales improved by 7.5% to BGN 1 402 m y-o-y. The company decreased its revenues from sales of tangible fixed assets as compared to the previous year. Inventory stayed almost unchanged. P/E is negative, whereas P/S of 0.37 is below the market average. The company was traded in moderate volumes during the session after series of sell offs during the last week.
