Another vehicle for the needs of the Kosovo railway operator is under construction, said manager Tsvetelin Kolev.
Express Service signed a franchise agreement in 2007 with the German firm Hegenscheidt for production of locomotives under the German trade mark. Two of the engines are already operating in China and our team is preparing to make additional adjustments on spot, Kolev added. The electric locomotives are powered by two direct current motors and are equipped with traction batteries and remote control. They are suitable for light maneuvers on even grounds in indoor premises. The vehicles are nature-friendly and noiseless.
Express Service is currently testing a diesel locomotive for the Sofia metropolitan.
The company was founded in 1998 as a locomotive repair yard. In 2002 it became the first Bulgarian locomotive maker.
