DNEVNIK
- Natural gas prices may go down by 10-15% as of October after British-based Melrose Resources recently discovered fields in Kavarna and Kaliakra, in northeastern Bulgaria, Economy Minister Traicho Traikov said. Melrose is expected to be awarded concession contracts to extract gas in Kavarna in August and in Kaliakra in September.
- United Bulgarian Bank, Bulgaria's third-largest bank by assets, majority-owned by the National Bank of Greece, will not pay dividend for 2009, the bank said following a shareholders meeting held on Wednesday. The bank's entire profit for last year, totalling 80.9 million levs, will be retained.
TRUD
- State-owned Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) will pick up by the end of August a consultant on the project for Belene nuclear power plant, Trud quoted Bulgaria’s Deputy Energy Minister Mariy Kosev as saying. Bulgaria is due to pay Russia's Atomstroyexport a total of 67 million euro for constructions works on the plant, he said, adding that further expenditures will depend on the amount of work that the Russian company will do.
STANDART
- Approximately 63% of Bulgarians will not go on vacation this year, a survey conducted by the state-funded National Centre for Public Opinion Studies (NPOC) showed.
