Consumer Price index (CPI), in September 2008, resulted 101.3 percent against December 2007 (December 07=100), signing an increase of1.1 percent against the previous month.

The annual rate in September is 2.7 percent. A year earlier the ratewas 4.4 percent.

The index of “Food and non-alcoholic beverage” group signed an increase of 2.1 percent, having an impact of 0.8 percent point in monthlychanges. Within this group the highest increase by 7.2 percent it was notice inthe “vegetables include potatoes” subgroup. Here can be mentioned increaseprices of cucumber by 33.4 percent, okra by 28.7 percent, eggplant by 22.3 percent, tomatoes by 21.2 percent, green bean by 11.8 percent, etc. The indexin “fruits” subgroup signed a decrease of 0.7 percent, where can be mentionedthe decrease prises of grapes by 10.2 percent, apple by 3.9 percent, banana by 3.2 percent, lemons by 2.8 percent, etc. In September prices areincrease in all the other subgroup of this groups, where can be mention increases in the subgroups , “ meat” 2.9 percent, “bread and cereals” 2.5 percent, “milk, cheese and eggs” 1.3 percent, “oil and fat” 0.9 percent, etc.

The index of “Clothing and footwear” group signed an increase of 0.3 percent, having an impact of 0.01 percent point in monthly changes.

The index of “Alcoholic drinks and tobacco” groups signed an increase of 1.3 percent, within it the price of tobacco is increase by 2.0percent.

The index of “Transport” group signed a decrease of 0.5 percent. In September price of diesel signet a decrease of 3.3 percent and price ofpetrol decreased of 2.8 percent.

The index of “Communication” group signed a decrease by 9.1 percent. This decrease is mainly result of decrease of mobile phone tariffsby 13.4 percent.

The index of “Recreation and culture” signed an increase by 10.2 percent, having an impact of 0.3 percent point in monthly changes. This increase is mainly result of increase of prices of school books by 73.8 percent.

While the monthly price index changes in the other groups vary from + 0.3 per cent to + 0.5 percent.
