May 8 (SeeNews) - Labour demand in Croatia fell in April for a fourth month in a row, by 5.4% year-on-year, slowing down from an annual decrease of 8.4% recorded in March, a local think-tank said.
In seasonally adjusted terms, the Online Vacancy Index (OVI) measuring labour demand, rose by 1.3% in April, but since the beginning of the year, it has nevertheless decreased overall, by 2.7%, the Institute of Economics Zagreb (EIZ) said in a monthly report on Monday.
"Considering that the second quarter has just started, we should at least wait for the data for May before we can comment on the labour market signals and their impact on the real GDP growth rate with greater certainty," EIZ added.
The five most sought-after occupations remained the same compared to April 2023: salesperson, followed by waiter and cook, river and warehouse worker.
