May 9 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Air Serbia has received permits from Chinese aviation authorities to carry out flights from Belgrade to Shanghai and Guangzhou, Serbian infrastructure minister Goran Vesic said on Thursday.
“The permits allow Air Serbia to fly to Guangzhou up to three times per week and to Shanghai up to twice per week. They will be valid for three years,” Vesic said, as seen in a YouTube video published by TV Prva.
“Air Serbia is in the process of adding two A330 aircraft and expects the first aircraft to arrive at the end of July or early August and to be added to its fleet in September or October, after which the aircraft will be able to be deployed on new direct routes to China,” he said.
The plan is to have one flight per week to Shanghai and Guangzhou each, added Vesic.
Last month, regional media reported that Air Serbia plans to launch flights to Shanghai in November or December.
