The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) became a stock company at the end of 2005. The members of the BVB are also its shareholders. The bourse is managed by the general shareholders' meeting and the board of governors. The BVB trading is structured in three segments: securities issued by Romanian entities, bonds and other securities issued by the state, the central and local administration and other authorities, and foreign entities. BVB and the over-the-counter market Rasdaq shareholders approved a merger of the two exchanges in December 2005 but RASDAQ will operate as a separate market within the BVB until its restructuring is completed. Official Trading Hours: 10:00-14:15 (equities); 11:00-13:00 (bonds) Main Indices: Bucharest Exchange Trading Index (BET), Bucharest Exchange Trading Composite Index (BET-C), Bucharest Exchange Trading Investment Funds Index (BET-FI), Romanian Traded Index (ROTX). Instruments Traded: Ordinary shares, municipal and corporate bonds and rights issues.
