London - Reuters has signed an exclusive deal with SeeNews, a Bulgaria-based provider of financial news and information, to bring its customers access to detailed coverage on the fast-growing companies, economies and markets of nine South-Eastern European nations.

SeeNews is an independent newswire providing coverage of corporate, business, economic, market, political and general news from a network of correspondents based in Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Albania, Moldova, Serbia and Montenegro.

Its coverage, which complements Reuters own reporting from the region, will be available as an optional extra service to financial professionals exclusively over Reuters financial desktop information products such as 3000 Xtra, Reuters Trader and Reuters Wealth Manager.

Michael Stott, Reuters Global Head of National News Services, said “Our deal with SeeNews gives Reuters clients a unique source of high-quality news about fast-growing conomies such as Bulgaria and Romania, where investor interest is growing ahead of EU entry. SeeNews content will complement Reuters own highly regarded news from the region to form  an unbeatable package.”

Dessislava Popova, SeeNews Editor-in-Chief, said “This alliance creates a powerful news source. Combining SeeNews unique content and local knowledge with Reuters world class financial data and news means we can offer financial professionals covering these markets with one, authoritative source.”

Reuters offers the world's most comprehensive set of domestic financial news coverage spanning 26 key markets in 19 languages. Earlier this year Reuters made a series of investments in its local language news services including the launch of a French language

news service for financial professionals in Switzerland, and the expansion of its Chinese language news service. It also signed an exclusive partnership with ANP in the Netherlands to provide market-leading Dutch news.
