April 10 (SeeNews) - Luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, part of French luxury goods group LVMH, is expected to open a store in Serbia's capital Belgrade in 2026, president Aleksandar Vucic said.
"We hope that in 2026, Louis Vuitton will finally come to Serbia and to Belgrade Waterfront [real estate project in the capital city]. Louis Vuitton is the flagship and when it comes, other big names follow," Vucic said during a visit to France, as seen in a video published on his YouTube profile on Tuesday.
Louis Vuitton, founded in 1854, started as a trunk maker, manufacturing boxes used to pack both everyday objects as well as wardrobes. The brand introduced numerous innovations including the flat-top trunk, lightweight canvas, signature patterns, and the tumbler lock.
LVMH owns 75 brands, which it refers to as "Houses," encompassing a wide range from Christian Dior couture to Hennessy cognac.
