April 18 (SeeNews) - Passenger traffic at Slovenia's Ljubljana airport increased to 257,817 in the first quarter of 2024, up 28% on the year, data by airport operator Fraport Group showed.
Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport went up 28.1% on the year to 5,860 in the first quarter, while cargo traffic edged down 0.8% to 2,907 tonnes, according to figures published on the website of Germany's Fraport Group.
In March alone, Ljubljana airport serviced 96,440 passengers, aircraft movements totalled 2,148, while cargo transport amounted to 1,114 tonnes.
Passenger traffic at Slovenia's Ljubljana airport more than doubled to 970,152 in 2022 from 421,934 in the previous year.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, Fraport Group operates the airports in the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
