February 2 (SeeNews) - Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania (ISBA) inaugurated last week its flagship non-cash desk branch in the capital Tirana in a bid to enhance customer experience while improving operational efficiency, Branch Network Manager Ermelinda Baco told SeeNews.
"The rationale behind a branch that does not have a cash desk, but offers self-service cash services is to provide its clients a better and more personalised financial advice, information, and guidance from the knowledgeable and dedicated staff of the branch " Baco told SeeNews in a recent interview via email.
"In addition, it provides for added time of assistance and training towards the use of digital channels," she added.
Despite lacking a traditional cash desk, the branch offers a complete range of services, including account management, deposits, loan applications, and digital banking access.
The Piramida branch is part of a broader network of cashless branches in other countries where the Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo operates, and it aligns with the group's digitisation strategy with a focus on the optimisation of end-to-end sales features in its digital banking platform.
“We believe that this rationale creates the conditions for more branches of a similar concept in the country,” Baco noted.
Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania launched its digital banking platform in 2019, which now offers end-to-end sales for debit cards and fast loans following the introduction of the electronic signature feature. The bank is on the way to introduce an advanced internet banking platform for business clients.
“All the investments that our bank is doing to offer new and innovative technology to our customers shows our focus and consistency in achieving the goals we have set in our digitisation strategy; to enhance customer experience, to improve operational efficiency, and to stay competitive in the evolving financial landscape,” Baco stressed.
Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, a fully-owned subsidiary of Italy's Intesa Sanpaolo, has 35 branches in Albania, chiefly located in the capital Tirana and main cities across the country.
Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania was the fourth largest lender in terms of assets among eleven banks that operated in Albania in the third quarter of 2023, according to the Albanian banks’ association.
