April 3 (SeeNews) - Greece registered the second-highest seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in the EU in February, at 11%, preceded only by Spain with 11.5%, Eurostat said on Wednesday.
In contrast, Slovenia posted the lowest jobless rate among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) in February, at 3.1%, the EU's statistical office said in a monthly data release.
Elsewhere in SEE, Croatia recorded an unemployment rate of 6%, the same as the overall bloc average.
All countries in the SEE region but Bulgaria and Romania marked annual declines in their jobless rates in February, with Slovenia marking the biggest one, at 0.5 percentage points (pp). In comparison, Bulgaria's unemployment rate grew by 0.3 pp on the year to 4.4% in the review month, while Romania's added 0.1 pp to 5.6%.
