April 25 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it has appointed Arvid Tuerkner as its next managing director for Moldova and Ukraine.
Tuerkner, currently managing director for Turkey, will head EBRD operations in the two Eastern European countries starting May 1, the lender said in a statement on Wednesday.
He will supervise the development of the EBRD programme for Ukraine, focusing on wartime investments, and will facilitate policy dialogue meant to assist Moldova and Ukraine progress towards EU accession.
Tuerkner is replacing Matteo Patrone, who will serve as vice president for the EBRD's banking division.
