April 18 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange closed 0.33% higher at 1,010.93 points on Thursday, boosted by gains in industrial gases producer Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS], bourse data showed.
Messer added 3.73% to 26,969 dinars in a volume of 103 shares.
At the same time, cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] paced the blue-chip decliners, shedding 1.56% to 1,706 dinars.
Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] generated the day's largest turnover. A total of 6,083 NIS shares changed hands in a turnover of 5.2 million dinars. NIS closed flat at 860 dinars.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, also rose, closing 0.42% higher at 2,174.89 points.
Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse soared to 138.1 million dinars ($1.3 million/1.2 million euro) on Thursday from 31.2 million dinars on Wednesday. Trading in Treasury bonds accounted for 128.1 million dinars of Thursday's turnover.
